Josephine Whiteskunk

Funeral Services for Josephine Whiteskunk, 69, Weatherford resident will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the Clinton Community Building, officiated by Mona Bearshield. Burial will conclude in the Hammon Indian Mennonite Cemetery, in Hammon, OK under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A traditional all night wake will be held starting at 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 5, 2017, in the Clinton Community Building. Josephine Whiteskunk was born on October 1, 1947, to Jones Edward and Mary (Elkriver) Whiteskunk in Clinton, Oklahoma, and passed on May 2, 2017, in the Weatherford Regional Hospital. Josephine was raised in the Red Moon Community, attending Hammon High School until 1966, then moving to Lawrence, Kansas graduating from Haskel High School in 1968. She was employed at the Clinton Indian Hospital for 30 years. Josephine enjoyed bowling, and watching OKC Thunder Basketball team. Also enjoyed listening to Mo town music. Josephine was a member of the Weatherford Indian Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Jones Edward Whiteskunk, Jr; two sisters Jean Sankey and Jill Whiteskunk Sheridan. Josephine is survived by her daughter Garnita Hamilton, Weatherford; one son Lee Hamilton Weatherford; six sisters Rosanna Jessepe, Mayetta KS, Nelle Whiteskunk, El Reno, OK, Carol Whiteskunk, Weatherford, OK, Hallie Whiteskunk, Weatherford, OK, Clarice Whiteskunk-Jacket, Towaoc, CO, Mary E. Whiteskunk, Mayetta, KS She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
