Joy C. Heard

Funeral Services for Joy Heard, 89, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, Officiated by Deacon Bill Hough. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Joy C. (Machtolff) Heard was born May 29, 1927 to George H. and Beulah P. (Phelps) Machtolff, Sr. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 in Alliance Health Clinton Emergency Room. While growing up her family made their homes in El Reno, OK, Borger, TX, Louisville, KY, Lexington KY, and Pauls Valley, OK. She met the love of her life, Pvt. Earl D. Heard and they were married on May 1944. He became a career military man and they traveled extensively, living in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Europe, Japan and then back to the states and lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, Ft. Mammoth, NJ, Snug Harbor, MA, Ft Bliss, TX and Dallas, TX, Wurzburg, Germany and settled in Clinton, OK. She had worked at various jobs through the years, working in a clothing store, Sears Mail Order Plant and worked as a nursing home administrator as well as doing child care in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in October of 1967 from complications of open heart surgery. She later married Luther Loftness in 1973, he was from Sandstone, MN and they spent their summer months in MN and then the winter months in Oklahoma. They were married for 24 years and he passed away in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother, George Machtolff and a sister, Shirley Duncan and she lost all three of her children, Phil Heard, Skip Heard and Angela Heard. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church; traveled extensively, she loved to do photography, collect antiques and loved her dogs. She is survived by four grandchildren, Corky Heard and wife, Missy, Clinton, David Heard, and wife, Alicia, Broken Arrow, Stephanie Solis, Clinton and Chris Heard and wife, Tabatha, Clinton, nine great- grandchildren, Jessica Heard, Harley Heard, Colton Heard, Corey Heard, Mikel Salinas, Mitchel Salinas, Angela Heard, Cyle Heard and Abigail Heard, three great-great grandchildren, Ava Salinas, Jason Salinas and Ali Salinas; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Skip (Kathy Heard) and Mrs. Phil (Marla Heard).
