A Chapel Service for Joyce Kauk-Metzler, 89, Custer County resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday in the the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Buck Nicholson. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Joyce (Hendrix) Kauk-Metzler was born February 10, 1929 to George and Floy (Ford) Hendrix in rural Custer County, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. Joyce was raised in Arapaho and Butler area and attended Solid Rock School in Rural Butler. She married Edward Kauk in 1944 in Butler, OK and they made their home in Rural Butler where they farmed for several years. Mr. Kauk preceded her in death in 1965 and she married Billy Meztler November 25, 1966 in Sayre, OK. They continued to live and farm in Butler until Mr. Metzler's death in 1983. She moved to Clinton to be close to family. She was a member of the German Freewill Baptist Church in Butler and she was an excellent seamstress. She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, daughter, Marylin Sue McCoy, a grandson James Edward Ray and granddaughter Kristi Gray. She is survived by five daughters, Linda Vela, Houston, TX, Peggy Mallow and husband, Noe De La Cruz, OKC, OK, Patricia Millican and husband Wayne, Arapaho, OK, Vicki Richardson, Foss, OK and Sherri Clark, Clinton, OK; sister, Maritta Hendrix, Alaska and brothers, Jack Hendrix of, Bakersfield CA, Billy Hendrix, Clinton, and a special brother in law, Bob Metzler, Leedey, OK. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Shiloh Cemetery Association or the Spreading the Word Ministry
