Joyce Lacey - Kenney

Funeral Services for Joyce Lacey-Kenney, 83, Clinton business woman, will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 5,2016 in the First Christian Church officiated by Doyle Kinney. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Joyce Carol (Brown) Lacey-Kenney was born April 9,1933 to Jim A. Brown and Velma V. (Barton) Brown in Shattuck, OK and passed away Thursday, June 30,2016 in the Alliance Health Clinton Hospital. Joyce started school in Pampa, Texas and the family later moved to Durham, OK where she attended school. She was married to Stoney Lacey on November 2,1950 in Cheyenne, OK. Stoney was in the Military and she completed her schooling and graduated in 1951. They made their first home in Lawton and she began her working career at a department store. They later moved to Durham and owned and operated a grocery store as well as moving on to Custer City where they also operated a grocery store/cafe. Joyce worked as a receptionist for the Lingenfelter Clinic and in 1964 the family moved to Clinton where she started working for the Oklahoma Bank and Trust. She started as a teller and then became a loan secretary. At the time of her retirement she held the position of Loan Administration Officer, retiring after 30 years of service. Stoney preceded her in death and she later married Melvin Kenney in November of 2006 in Clinton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stoney Neal Lacey, son, Neal Lynn Lacey her parents, and a brother, Gerald Brown. She was a longtime faithful and active member of the First Christian Church. She was an avid basketball fan and loved watching college ball as well as the "Thunder". She like playing cards, bowling, softball, and spent many hours raising money for the children's organization St. Jude. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma, Alpha chapter Beta PSI and served on the local and state levels. She was a member of the Red Hatters, PEO, Christian Women's Fellowship and Business Professional Women's Club and served on numerous other committees and fund raisers. She is survived by her husband, Melvin, of the home, daughters, Sparla Dick and husband, Curtis, Winfield, KS and Charlene Butler and husband, Dr. Jack,, Edmond, OK; a son, Dale Vineyard, Eakley, OK, and daughters, Vickie Kenney, Weatherford, OK and Kay Schoeppel, Fairview, OK. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shanna Jager and husband, Chad, Manhattan, KS, Aaron Dick and wife, Lyndsay, Shawnee, KS, Amber Cummins and husband, Michael, OKC, OK, Sarah Butler, Edmond, Aleah Butler, Edmond and Angel Morton and husband, Steve, OKC, OK, Chacey Schoeppe, Edmond and 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
