Judy Gail Williams Lanpheir

September 24, 1947 — March 7, 2015

Judy Gail Williams Lanpheir was born on September 24, 1947 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Margie Jo (Boileau) and Gerald J. Williams and lost her battle with cancer on March 7, 2015, in Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from Putnam High School in 1965, she attended Napa Jr. College, Napa, California and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she earned a degree in elementary education. She was a much loved and highly dedicated teacher who taught first grade, then kindergarten for forty years in the Fairfield, California area. An amazing educator, Judy was honored as Teacher of the Year for her inspiration in the classroom. She was a positive force in all aspects of her life, offering friendship and a smile to all she met. A lifetime proponent of higher education, Judy established the Williams Family Endowed Scholarship Fund at the SWOSU Foundation in Weatherford for the benefit of a Dewey County, Oklahoma high school graduate. In California, she established the Judy Williams Lanpheir Scholarship Fund at the Assist-A-Grad Scholarship Foundation in Fairfield to benefit graduates of a Fairfield Unified School. Upon retirement she spent a majority of her time in Maricopa, Arizona, a place she truly loved and where she had established a second home. Retirement gave her the opportunity to continue traveling, country dancing, line dancing, friendships and enjoying all that life had to offer. Judy loved to socialize and have fun and would not miss a gathering or party, especially if dancing was involved! She made friends easily and had many dear and close friends. Judy is preceded in death by both parents. She is survived by her two children, Tory JoBryn Lanpheir-Johnson (of Texas) and Tavin Buchanan Lanpheir (of California), three grandchildren, Ryer Johnson, Tessa Johnson and Mia Lanpheir, one sister Jane Aiello, and a host of family and friends. The family would like to thank Judy's friends, Kris Gilbert and Toby McCalister for their constant care and companionship with Judy during her final days. Services will be at the Putnam First Christian Church at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2015, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, Clinton, Oklahoma, In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to SWOSU Foundation, 100 Campus Drive, Weatherford, OK 73096 for the Williams Family Endowed Scholarship Fund
