Jw Beers

Funeral services for JW Beers, 82-year-old resident of Putnam, OK, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 4th, 2023, at the Putnam Christian Church, officiated by Richie Oakes. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery outside of Putnam, under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

JW Beers was born February 8th, 1940 to Charlie Beers and Arizona (Carter) Beers, at the home in Putnam, OK and passed away Monday, January 30th, 2023 in Oklahoma City, OK.

JW was raised in Putnam and graduated from Putnam High School in 1958. He married Janet Baldwin on May 15th, 1959 in Watonga, OK. They moved around Oklahoma for the first several years of their marriage while JW worked construction before they settled in Putnam in the early 1970s.

JW was a hard-working man, that did several things in his time. He has worked on road construction, was a brick-layer, and did dirt work. He was also a member of the Mason’s. He did custom harvesting, along with farming his own land. He owned and operated Beers Dozer Service, and Beers Trucking. For the last six years, he has been doing dozer work for Weeks Blade Service. There wasn’t a piece of heavy equipment that JW couldn’t master.

In his spare time, JW enjoyed playing cards, dominoes, spending time with his family, and going to the casino.

JW was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Arizona, his wife, Janet, his brother, Gaylen Beers, and a great-granddaughter, Jaysea Beers.

JW is survived by his six children: Mike Beers and wife Joanna of Putnam, Kavin Beers of Putnam, Renda Nappier and husband Jerry of Putnam, Marsha Cusack and husband Shawn of Ames, OK, Robin Justice and David Feaster of Chester, OK, and Curtis Beers of Putnam.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Nicole and husband Brad, Charlie J, Erica, Kaleb, Heath and wife Zoe, Connor and wife Kelsey, Erin, Dillion, Emily and Harli. Along with 10 great-grandchildren, a large extended family and many friends.

The family has suggested that memorials can be made to either the Putnam Volunteer Fire Department or the Fairview Cemetery Association.
