Katherine Andrews

Memorial Services for Kathy Andrews, 47, Clinton resident, will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jesse Musick and under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Katherine Marie (Hanes) Andrews was born on May 26, 1970 in Ponca City, OK and passed away on November 28, 2017, in her Clinton home after a lengthy battle with Auto Immune Liver Disease. Early in Kathy's life, her parents, brother and sister moved to Clinton, OK for a short period of time before moving on to Burns Flat, where she grew up and was a cheerleader. In her teens, she moved back to Clinton where she had her first job at Western Sizzlin. This is where she met Jessie C. Andrews. They quickly knew they wanted to be married and right before Kirra's second birthday, they were wed. In 1989, their second daughter, Jessie Gail was born. Kathy became a Nurse's Aide in 1990. It is where she found her true calling; caring for the patients in many of the nursing homes in and around Clinton. Following in her father's footsteps, Kathy returned to school where she earned an LPN degree graduating at the top of her class from Western Oklahoma Vo-Tech in Burns Flat. With her degree in hand, she returned to her passion, caring for the elderly and Hospice patients with love and compassion. She had a heart of gold, a wonderful person both in her acts and deeds no matter the circumstances. Kathy truly loved every heart she touched, and impacted more lives than she really knew. She often said that when a person she had come to know and cared for passed away, and a part of her passed along with them. She worked for Home Health, Faith Hospice, Cordell Nursing Home, and the Weatherford Nursing Home. Many called her mother, friend and sister. Kathy loved her children and grandchildren and gave much of her time to them even though she suffered with a very debilitating illness. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, E. B. Hanes and Ruby Hanes, and Roy Eugene and Reecie Josephine Osborn, and one grandson Kegan Gene Andrews. Kathy is survived by her parents, Jim and Virginia Hanes, Foss, and Elizabeth Hall, Foss; one brother Jim Hanes and wife Jami, along with their children, Savanna, Morgan, and Steven, of Bluffdale, UT; one sister, Christine James and husband Tony, along with their son, Emery, all of Burns Flat; her two daughters, Kirra Updike and husband James, and their two children, Chelsea and Logan, all of Foss; Jessie Gail Hawkins and husband Tim, and their son, Dustin, of Altus, OK. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, along with extended family and friends.
