Kathryn Merrill Thompson

November 15, 1941 — February 8, 2014

Our loving mother, Kathryn Merrill Thompson, 72, former Clinton resident, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends carried her through several years of ongoing illnesses. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Broadway Heights Baptist Church, officiated By Rev. Buck Nicholson and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Kathryn Nell Thompson was born November 15, 1941 to Linden Merrill and Frances (Clark) Merrill in Cordell, Oklahoma and passed away in the Green Oaks Nursing Home in Arlington, TX. Mrs. Thompson was raised in Gotebo as a young girl and moved to Clinton when she was in the 7th grade. She attended Clinton Schools and graduated in 1959. She was married and traveled extensively and settled in Arlington, TX in 1986. She worked in retail sales for several years. She was preceded in death by her father, Linden Merrill. She is survived by her mother, Frances Merrill, of Clinton; a son, Kent Thompson, Marietta GA; three daughters, Shari Klingensmith and husband James, Lori Lax and Kelly Bleigh and husband, Richard, all of Arlington, TX; two brothers, Melvin Merrill and wife, Kathy, Davis, OK and Perry Merrill and wife, Marge, Townsend, MA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael Stuart and wife Leonor, Arlington, TX, Amanda Stuart, Portland, OR, Lindsey Townsend and husband, Clay, Melissa, TX and Kyle Bleigh, Arlington, TX; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Stuart.
