Funeral services for Kay Morgan, 80, of Granite, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at the Living Waters Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma officiated by (son in law) Pastor Dwight Shephard. Burial will follow in the Granite Cemetery in Granite, Oklahoma under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Sandra Kay Morgan was born on October 5, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas to William Henry Wingo and Macie Kathryn (Blocker) Wingo, and received into heaven by her Savior early Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in the Great Plains Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma. Kay, or Meme, as she is known by family and friends was raised in Granite, Oklahoma and graduated from Granite Highschool in 1958. In 1959 Kay entered into Nurses training at the Oklahoma General School of Nursing in Norman, Oklahoma where she achieved her Registered Nursing Degree. During her almost 60 year nursing career Kay worked in virtually every aspect of nursing beginning as an E.R. trauma nurse in Trinidad and Denver, Colorado, Director of Nurses in several senior living facilities, and her last position as the beloved "sucker lady" school nurse for the Lone Wolf Public School System. On May 19, 1961 Kay married Cecil Morgan. On December 23, 1962 the Lord added an early Christmas gift to the happy couple in the form of their firstborn daughter Melisa Kay. On September 26, 1964 He added another beautiful gift from heaven in their second daughter Sharon Lanae. Eight years later the family was blessed with a bouncing baby boy. Cecil Jr. (C.J.), who was born November 22, 1972. From this blessed union Cecil and Kay were blessed with numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kay and her husband Cecil moved many times to accommodate careers in Nursing and The Civil Service, finally settling in her beloved hometown of Granite, Oklahoma. They welcomed visits from family and friends near and far and nurtured and adopted many orphaned kittys and other 4 legged family members. Kay's lifelong faith in Jesus was lived out loving her family, her friends, her patients and her pets. She loved studying the Bible and led many classes and study groups through the years. Kay attended church as often as possible with her daughter and son in law at Living Waters Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Her hobbies included quilting and crafting and she lived to make personalized gifts for family and friends. She was welcomed into heaven by her husband Cecil, her son C.J. and 2 sisters, Gay Bagby and DeeAnn Pierce, who proceeded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Locklear and husband Robert of Granite, Oklahoma and Sharon Shephard and husbijnd Dwight of Burns Flat, Oklahoma. A daughter in Law, Julie Morgan of Denver, Colorado and sister Jan Locklear of Oklahoma City as well as 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
