A Chapel Service for Laura LaVerne McLaughlin, 80, Clinton resident will be held Monday, 2:00P.M. November 24, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Buck Nicholson. Burial will conclude in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Laura LaVerne McLaughlin was born November 24, 1933 to Lloyd and Dora (Armstrong) Smith in Butler, OK and passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton, OK. Mrs. McLaughlin was raised and attended school in Butler. She was married Leo "Bud" McLaughlin November 23, 1948 in Wheeler, TX. She has made her home in Custer County most of her life. She was a cosmetologist and she owned and operated a beauty shop as well as fixing hair in the Methodist Nursing Home. She was a member of the Baptist Faith; she enjoyed traveling, gardening, working on p[photo albums and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother L.D. Smith. She is survived by her husband, "Bud", of Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton, two daughters, Laura Jo Ambeau, Ft. Alan, LA and Lonnie Mannon, of Canute OK and a son, Charles McLaughlin, of Bastrop, OK; a brother, Frank smith, of Butler, OK. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
