Lavona Meget

A graveside service for LaVona Meget, 83, longtime secretary of the Clinton's First Baptist Church and Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday in Union Hatchett Cemetery in Bessie, OK, officiated by Rev. Chris Fields and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Lavona Ileen (Buffing) Meget was born August 4, 1933 to Oscar Buffing and Anna Sophia (Schultz) Buffing in Arapaho, OK and passed away early Tuesday , September 27, 2016 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton, OK. Ms. Meget was raised in the Bessie Community and graduated from Clinton High School in 1951. She was married to Roy Meget in 1952 in Clinton. She worked at the Hardin's Grocery Store before starting a long career as secretary for Clinton's First Baptist Church, starting in 1956 and retiring in 1998. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Kenny Meget, Weatherford and Craig Meget and wife, Debbie, Oklahoma City, OK and five grandchildren, Nathan, Jared, Jase, Hunter and Sydney and five great-grandchildren, Conner, Hadley, Levi, Cole and Adeline.
