Lela Mae Mcgill

A Chapel Service for Lela Mae McGill, 90, longtime Clinton resident will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2014 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel officiated by Joshua Holm and burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery in Enid, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Lela Mae McGill was born December 20, 1923 the tenth child of 14 children to John Smith and Alice (Jones) Smith in Eudora, AR and passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Lela was raised partially in Oklahoma City and moved to Enid at the age of 13 years old. She attended the Booker T. Washington School where she graduated. She continued her education through the years, attended some college and a nursing school. She was married to Mr. Herman McGill in 1949 and moved to Clinton. To this Union two sons were born. They made their home in Clinton where she helped numerous families In Clinton. She helped raise numerous children and did some nursing. She was a devoted and active member for the Jehovah Witness and attended the Kingdom Hall. Lela was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and seven brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her two sons, Eric McGill, Oakland, CA and Myron McGill, of Clinton, OK and a devoted niece, KarylenHickerson, of Oklahoma City as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
