A memorial service for Lena Cobb-Snider, 83, Clinton resident will be held 6:00 P.M., Friday, October 5, 2012 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Abraham Lincoln Deutschendorf and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Lena Edna (Deutschendorf) Cobb-Snider was born March 12, 1929 to John Henry and Anna (Koop) Deutschendorf in Corn, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Corn Heritage Village in Corn, Oklahoma. Lena was raised in Corn, Oklahoma and she attended Cloud Chief High School and was Salutatorian of her 1947 graduating class. She moved to Clinton and began her working career at the Southwestern Bell Telephone as a phone operator and after 30 years of service, she retired in 1977. She was married to Bob Cobb October 16, 1950 in Clinton and they made their home in Clinton for several years. She was later married to C. Kenneth Snider August 6, 1976 in Wheeler, TX and they continued to live in Clinton. They enjoyed farming, spent a lot of time traveling and having fun in their retirement. Mrs. Snider was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Southwestern Bell Pioneers. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and crossword puzzles and loved going to thrift stores and garage sales looking for treasures. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, the father of her children, Bob, two sons, Mike Cobb and Barry Cobb, step son, Steve Snider, sister, Annie Askins, five brothers, Hank, Fred, Sam, Max and Dean Deutschendorf. She is survived by a daughter, Julie Henry and her partner Larry Querbach, Jones, OK and a step daughter, Cheryl Harms and husband, Terry, Clinton; three step sons, Drew Snider and wife, Lori, Corn, OK, Kirby Snider and wife, Jeannie, Norman, OK and a daughters in law, Mrs. Mike Cobb (Mary Jo Meacham), Oklahoma City, Mrs. Barry Cobb (Dondi Cobb), Corn, OK, Mrs. Steve Snider (Lynne Snider), Hobart; five brothers, William Deutschendorf, Foss, Paul Deutschendorf, Clinton, Abe Deutschendorf, Lawton, Larry Deutschendorf, LA and Dave Deutschendorf, KS. She is also survived by grandchildren, Mark Cobb, Butler, Brian Paul Cobb, Clinton, Anna Cobb, Weatherford, Trey Newton, Weatherford, Melissa Henry, NY, Derrick Henry, Denver, CO, Allison Adams, Clinton, Cody Brittain, Clinton, Sean Snider, Edmond, Stephanie Josie, Mustang, Ben Snider, Corn, Collin Snider, Bessie, Abby Smith, and Bert Snider, Japan and a host of great-grandchildren. The family has suggested those wishing to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Clinton’s Homeless Shelter, 300 South 7th Clinton, OK 73601.
