Funeral Services for Leon L. Weitner, 92, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 3, 2014 in the First Church of God, officiated by Rev. Roy Dobbs and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau- Lee Funeral Home. Leon L.Weitner was born August 14, 1921 to Carl and Earlna (Dickinson) Weitner in Mountain Park, Oklahoma and he passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. He was raised and graduated from high school at Mountain Park, OK in 1938 and he continued his education in Clinton at Keen's Business College.He was married to Ruby Mae Harrison on December 27, 1941. He lived at the First Station where he was a volunteer fireman while going to school. He stared working at the OklahomaBank until entering the service. He served in the Army Air Forced from October 1942 until November 1945. He attended an Engineering and Operation School in Los Angeles, CA. He was stationed in Edmonton, Canada and Delta Junction, Alaska. He worked for the Clinton Post Office starting in April 1946, serving as a clerk, Assistant Postmaster and retried in September 1983 as Postmaster. He was very active in his retirement years volunteering at the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital and the Route 66 Museum. He was an active and faithful member of the First Church of God for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his, wife, Ruby Mae, his parents, three brothers, Virgil, Dwite and Cleo, sister in law, Willie Belle Hardin. He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Turner and her husband, Kenneth, of Anderson, IN and two sons, Gary Weitner and his wife, Beverly, of Surprise, AZ and Ron Weitner and his wife, Carole, of Flower Mound, TX, a brother, Archie Weitner, of Roswell, NM, three sisters, Marie Culberth and husband Tom, of Clovis, NM, Julia Hood, of Cedar Hill, TX, Joyce Barber, of Hot Springs, AR and sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Weitner, , Tyler, TX and Florene Bullard and husband Lynn, of Wichita Falls, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Stephen Turner, of Chesterfield, IN, Sara Turner, of Muncie, IN, Kristi Richards and her husband Aaron, of Surprise, AZ, Sean Weitner and his wife, Elizabeth, of Stoughton, WI, Jessica Ballard and husband, Justin, Colorado Springs, CO and Alexis Birkmeyer and husband, Paul, of Redwood, City, CA and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will greet guest 6:00P.M. Till 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
