A Chapel Service for Leona G. Unger, 92, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 Monday, February 11, 2013 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Buck Nicholson and Don Heinrichs and burial will follow in the Corn Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Leona Gladys Unger was born September 16, 1920 to Henry and Mary (Kliewer) Rempel in Corn, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, February 08, 2013 in the Angelwood Assisted Living Center in Clinton, OK. Leona was raised in Corn and graduated from Corn High School ion 1939. She married Mr. Wilbur L. “Bill” Unger on June 4, 1939 in Corn, OK. Together they owned and operated numerous businesses in Corn. They retired in 1979 and spent the next eight years working summers at Fun Valley, CO, wintering their home in South, TX and traveling. In 1997, they moved back to Western Oklahoma and made their home. Mr. Unger passed away in September of 2006. She has made her home at the Angelwood Assisted Living Center for the past five years. She was a member of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church and the Corn Home improvement Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, sister and brother in law, Ruby Reimer and Herb, her twin brothers, Harry and Harvey Rempel, brother in law, Bill Ezell, son in law, Dan Murray and a great-grandson, Darren Ernst. She is survived by two daughters, Pam Murray, TX and Dian Kupper and her husband, Duane, Tucson, AZ grandchildren, DeAnn Elliott and husband, Robert, Clinton, OK, J.D. Murray, Las Vegas, NV and Derek Kupper and wife, Michelle, Lacrosse, WI; great-grandchildren, Race, Courtney, Max and Kayleigh. She is also survived by a sister, Virgie Ezell, Los Angeles, CA and sister in Law, Velma Rempel, Hutchison, KS and a host of nieces and nephews.
