Funeral Services for Leroy Crawford, 87, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, in the Bethany Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Thomas Perry, Rev. Billy Mucker and Rev. Tyrone Lewis. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Leroy Crawford, Jr. was born January 15, 1935, to Leroy Crawford, Sr. and Cora (Price) Crawford in Vernon, TX and passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, in his Clinton home. Leroy was raised in Vernon, TX and graduated from Vernon High School in 1953. He moved to Clinton in 1963 and was married to Maxine Robinson. To that union four children were born, James, Elaine, Christopher and Serena. He began a career with the City of Clinton in May of 1970 and retired in 1988 as the Street and Sanitation Superintendent. He later met Gracie Walker and spent the remainder of his forty years with her. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church; he enjoyed fishing, Barbequing; smoking meats and he was a community minded and loved helping his friends and neighbors in the Clinton Community. He often gave others rides, good advice and did anything for anybody. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine Crawford, two daughters, Elaine Miller and Serena Blakemore and two sons, James Crawford and Christopher Crawford; brothers, R.V. Crawford, Freddie Crawford, William Crawford, and Vernon Crawford; sisters, Bessie Easter, Margie Tharpe, Geraldine McCurley, Willie Lee Jones and Mildred Snead and sister in law, Mildred Snead. . He is survived by his lifr long companion, Gracie (Kirkendoll) Walker, of the home, stepchildren, James Kirkendoll, Albuquerque, NM, Bryan Kirkendoll, Kansas City, MO, Kevin Kirkendoll, of TN, Rowlin Walker, Jr., Kansas City, KS, Kristina Walker, OKC, OK and Lawrence Gaines, Anchorage, AK, sister Joyce Mitchell, San Diego, CA. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren including Weston Blakemore, Janell Blakemore, James Crawford, Jr. Marcus Crawford, Bradley Randle, Connie Griffin, Brian Miller and Jerel Miller, Connie Miller and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
