A memorial service for Leslie D. Taylor, 77, Clinton resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 27, 2012 in the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, east of Clinton, officiated by Seth Ferguson and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Leslie Don “L.D.” Taylor was born October 14, 1935 to Leslie Elmo “Peanut” Taylor and Virginia Kathryn Lois (Carpenter) Taylor in Vernon, TX and he passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. Mr. Taylor was raised in Chillicothe, TX and graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1954. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955 and soon married Flossie Matthews. He served four yours in the military and was honorably discharged in 1959. They made their home in Enid, OK where L.D. began his career in the oilfield working on drilling rigs. He moved his family to Western, Oklahoma in 1980 and he retired from B.J. Services in 2001. L.D. enjoyed his retirement years on his farm east of Clinton; he loved raising cattle, fishing, playing dominoes and most all being with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Flossie, of the home, four children, Donna Lispi, Russellville, AR , Sherry Schiede and husband, Dick, Dover, AR, Leslie Thomas “Tom” Taylor and wife, Geri, Elk City, OK, and Monte Taylor and wife, Carrie, Foss, OK. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ryan, Andrea, Kelly, Christopher, Nikki, Tacey, Jamie, Samantha and Jesse and six great grandchildren; a brother, Bob “Rooster” Taylor and wife, Doris, Ames, OK and two sisters, Mary Kennedy, Chillicothe, TX and Nancy Weaver and husband, Bob, Rochester, IN and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved him very much.
