Funeral Services for Leslie Wandrie, 83, long time Clinton resident and businessman will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 3, 2015 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Jerry Lamb and Doyle Kinney. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Leslie Roy Wandrie was born November 27, 1932 to Robert Wandrie and Doris (Dodd) Wandrie in Frazee, Minnesota and died Friday November 27, 2015 on his 83rd birthday in Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, OK. Les as his close friends and family called him was raised in Frazee Minnesota and Fargo, North Dakota. He attended his schooling in Frazee. He had moved to Washington State when he was 17 years old and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Desert Rock, Nevada and in 1955 he transferred to the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Sherman Air Force Base,Okla. After he was honorably discharged he made his home in Clinton, OK where he owned and operated numerous business's, including; Les's Lounge, Les's Bar, Slim's Bar, Les's Texaco off of I40 and until the present he has owned Clinton Liquor Store. He was married to Winnie Mae Benton in 1959 in Clinton and she preceded him in death in July of 1966. He later married Frances Harycki in Las Vegas, NV and they made their home in Clinton and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, he enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, poker and in his young years he enjoyed boating. He loved sports and was a big supporter of Clinton Red Tornadoes, he was an avid Oklahoma University football fan as well as Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and had served as Commander of both organizations at least three times. Besides being preceded in death by his wives, he is preceded in death by his parents, three children, Darwin Wandrie, Robert Wandrie and Malinda Gayle. He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Wandrie, El Reno and Doris Wandrie-Thunderbull and husband, Larry, Clinton; two sons, Dale Wandrie and wife, Nancy ,Bella Vista, Arkansas and Martin Wandrie and wife, Lisa, Clinton; three sisters, Donna Mashek, Kansas City, MO, Lucille Bohlin, Detroit Lakes,Min. Gladys Wandrie, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; three brothers, Carl Wandrie and wife Jeannie, Grand Fork,ND, Roger Wandrie and wife, Jaanjia,Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and Gary Wandrie, Woodbine, MD. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
