Lowanda Snider

Funeral Services for Lowanda Snider, 82 Arapaho resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 29, 2013 in the Arapaho First Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Vann Leonard and Anthony Arington, burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Lee Funeral Home. Lowanda Lorean (Davis) Snider was born May 11, 1930 to Charlie and Cecil A. (Blair) Davis in Fairview, Oklahoma and passed away early Thursday, April 25, 2013 in her Arapaho resident following battle with cancer. Lowanda was raised six miles east and one mile north of Putnam and attended the Banner District School her primary years and then attended Putnam Schools starting in the 7th grade. She was married to Jesse Brookshier in May of 1947 in Sapulpa, OK. They made their home in Clovis, NM and to this marriage a son was born, Dean Brookshier. They moved back to Oklahoma and Mr. Brookshier did farm labor in the Putnam area. He was injured in a farming accident and passed away in April of 1949. She was later married to William “Bill” Arington in 1950 and they made their home in the Clinton and Arapaho area. To this marriage three more children were born, Larry, David and Teresa. She was later married to Lloyd Snider in 1980 in Arapaho, OK and they continued to make their home in Arapaho. He also preceded her in death. She was a longtime faithful and active member of Arapaho’s First Christian Church since 1951 where she taught Sunday School and helped with Vacation Bible School as well as many of the other church activities until the church closing; she most recently was a member of the Arapaho Baptist Church and was active there as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Richard Davis. She is survived by four children, First son, Dean Brookshier and his wife, Linda, of Arapaho, and their two children, Michael and his wife, Angela, of Bethany, OK and their children, Cayla and Casey and her son, Lucas and Keri Peavler and her two children, Jesse and Trystan. Second son, Larry Arington and his wife, Eva, of Oklahoma City, OK and their son, Anthony Arington and his wife, Kim, of Shawnee and their six children, Alexia, Kylie, Kenna, Aidan, Zoe, and Konnor. Third son, David Arington, of Oklahoma City. Her daughter, Teresa Lee and husband, Randy, of Comer, GA and their two children, Raina Tuten and husband, Clay and their children, Connor, Hunter and Alina and Mathew Lee and his wife, Jenny and their children, Cody and Melina. The family will greet guest 6:00 P.M., till 8:00 P. M.
