Mable Ann Petree

Graveside Services for Mabel Ann Petree, 81, Thomas resident will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday December 7, 2012 in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, Oklahoma officiated by Bruce Lewis and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Mabel was born on June 23, 1931 to James and Nell Mae (Atkins) Turner and passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in the St. Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City. She was raised in Selma, Alabama, Edmond, Oklahoma; and Mid West City where she also graduated from high school in 1948. She married Jim Petree on September 3, 1952 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Mr. Petree worked for Phillips Petroleum Company and they were transferred a lot and made their home in various places. They settled in Thomas in 1968. Mrs. Petree was a member of the Church of Christ; she collected cook books and was a very good cook. Her passion was spending time with her Grand-Children. She is survived by one son; Jim Petree Jr. and his wife Roberta of Thomas, two daughters; Jamie Roper and her husband Loren of Weatherford and Marcy Roof and her husband Robin of Fay; a brother Dr. James Sterling Turner and his wife, Carolyn, Edmond. She is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister Virginia Hill.
