Funeral Services for Madonna Etris, 71, Cordell resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Peace Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. R.B. Mathis and burial will follow in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Bessie, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Madonna Ann (Intemann) Etris was born September 14, 1942 to Reinhold and Weleda (Buehler) Intemann in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in her Cordell resident after a courageous 19 month battle of cancer. She was raised on a farm in the Bessie area and attended her elementary years there. She later graduated from Clinton High School in 1960. She was married to James Etris on May 28, 1961 in Bessie, OK and they made their home in Cordell, OK and to this union two children were born, Mark and Janis. She worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company in Clinton for several years before taking a job with the Cordell Lumber Yard. In 1977 she started a career with the Cordell Public Schools and it lasted for over 35 years before she retired. Madonna has “trained” many principals during her devoted years and has touched the hearts of hundreds of student’s and has enriched their lives. She spent a lifetime going to Cordell School events and athletic activities. She especially loved attending ballgames of her grandsons Preston and Paxton and her seat in the gym may be vacant but she now has the best seat of all. Madonna was preceded in death by her parents. She was a long time member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Bessie, she loved to cook each one of her family members there favorite foods. During the summer months she enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard and garden. She is survived by her husband, James, of the home, son Mark Etris and his wife, Lori, of Glenpool, OK and daughter, Janis Switzer and husband Daren, of Cordell, OK. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Heath, Shane, Preston, Paxton and one great-granddaughter, Charolette.
