Funeral Service for "Bess" Shephard, 87, Arapaho resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 30, 2019 in the Freewill Baptist Church, officiated by Pastors Dwight Shephard and Charles Murphy. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Margaret "Bess" (Roush) Shephard was born March 9,1932 Vicksburg, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord on Saturday May 25, 2019 in the Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Bess was born to Russell and Elsie Roush in (Vicksburg) Custer County, Oklahoma. She was raised in Vicksburg, OK and then attended Arapaho Public Schools. She married the love of her life, George Robert Shephard. They were blessed with three children: Harold Glenn, Connie, and Johnny Mack. During her life, she was full of adventure. She enjoyed raising her children, helping her husband run a dairy, helping around the farm, raising chickens, running the Dairy Boy, and mostly loved working in her vegetable garden. She was also a fabulous seamstress. Her grandkids would say she loved to have them over and serve them breakfast. She made the best pancakes around. She was always ready to have a good time whether that meant going skiing at the lake, even though she did not know how to swim, or playing games around the house. She was full of spunk and quite a pistol. Some people remember her as "Bess the Mess." She was a woman that lived life to the fullest, and she loved Jesus and others with her whole heart. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Randol and husband Mark of Weatherford, and 8 grandchildren, Heather Johnson and husband Brian of Clinton, Desiree Meacham and husband Russ of Clinton, Valerie Markum and husband Seth of Tuttle, Zach Randol and wife Kim of Weatherford, Josh Randol and wife Robyn of Weatherford, Eric Shephard and wife Rachel of Deer Creek, Jordan Parman and husband Ryan of Hammon, and Allison Webber of North Carolina. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Elsie Roush; husband, George Robert; sons Harold Glen and Johnny Mack; siblings, Harold Roush and wife Essie, Gene Roush, Peggy Catlett and husband Elton, Sylvia Thompson and husband Tom.
