Margaret Eloise Tisdal

A Memorial service for Eloise Tisdal, 92, Clinton resident will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the First Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Roland Youngberg. A private burial will be held at a later date under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Margaret Eloise (Dunlop) Tisdal was born September 29, 1922 to Roy F. and Lois Julia (Martin) Dunlop in Spearman, Texas and passed away in her Clinton home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Eloise was raised in Elk City and graduated from Elk City High School in 1939. She continued her education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She met her future husband James Harold Tisdal during the summer of 1942 and they were married on August 24, 1943 in Elk City, OK. She was employed with the Internal Revenue Service in OKC while Harold continued and completed Medical School. Dr. Harold was a Medical Doctor in the United States Army and they were deployed to Hickam Field Army Base in Honolulu, Hawaii for two years. They moved back to Oklahoma and settled in Clinton in 1947 where he practiced medicine for the next 46 years. They made Clinton there home most of their married life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lois Dunlop and her foster parents Uncle Audley and Aunt Margaret Williams. Eloise's passion was always being a mom and grandmother. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, an avid golfer, expert bridge player, and for many years a private pilot. She loved to travel, and Eloise and Dr. Harold traveled extensively from the Far East to Europe and most places in between. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Harold Tisdal, of the home, daughter, Linda Johnson and husband Frank, of Dallas, TX, three sons, Mart Tisdal and wife Marian, of Clinton, Dr. Paul Tisdal and wife, Jan, of Weatherford and Alan Tisdal and wife, Claire, of Tuscaloosa, AL . She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Andrea Berryhill and husband, Brian, of Golden, CO, Reed Tisdal and wife, Stephanie of Chapel Hill, NC, Julia Tisdal of New York City, New York, Logan Tisdal of Ho Chi Min City, Viet Nam, Bo Tisdal, of Weatherford, Taylor Moen and husband, T. J. Palo, Alto, CA, Geoff Johnson, of Midland, TX, Todd Johnson, of Denver, CO, Maggie Howard and husband, Chad of Hailey, Idaho and Alexander Black, of Tuscaloosa, AL; three great-grandchildren, Landon Tisdal, of Weatherford, Aldon Berryhill and Ava Berryhill, of Golden, CO.
