Funeral Services for Margaret Sorter, 84, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Vann Leonard. Burial will follow in the Union Hatchett Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Margaret Marie (Carter) Sorter was born March 15, 1932 to Granville Carter and Rachel (Belter) Carter in Bessie, Oklahoma and passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton. Margaret was raised in Bessie, Oklahoma and graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1950. She started traveling at a young age and made their homes in Arkansas, Alabama and then settled in Clinton in 1964. She was working in food service in Burns Flat before marrying Lowell Sorter, Sr. September 30, 1966 in Wheeler, Texas. They made their home in Clinton where Lowell partnered with his brother Bill in Circle S Paving. Lowell preceded her in death in 1988. She was most recently a resident of the Grace Living Center. She was a member of the Baptist Church; she loved playing bingo, Cards, slot machines, spending time with family and watching soap operas. She was a preceded in death by her husband Lowell in 1988, grandson, Braydon Sorter, three brothers, Otis Carter, Curtis Carter and Vernon Carter; two sisters, Dorothea Dudgeon and Mildred "Cricket" West. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Boes and husband, John, Branson West, MO, Sandi Worlund and husband, Tim, Prague, OK; four sons, Jack Forrest and wife, Bonnie, Bill Forrest, Lowell Sorter and Josh Sorter and wife, Kelcey, all of Clinton; two sisters, Opal Davis and husband, R.K. Arapaho, Gayle "Salliy" Waggoner and husband, Wayne, Van Buren, AR and two brothers, Montel Carter and wife, Merry, Grapevine, TX and Nolan Carter, Clinton.
