Funeral Services for Margie Folsom, 81, Cordell resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 13, 2023, in the Cornerstone Church, officiated by Brother John Waltrip and Brother Hoyt “Clutch” Phillips. The burial will follow in the Hinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

The family will greet guests from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2023, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

Margie Mae (Courtney) Folsom was born June 28, 1941, to Alonzo Courtney and Minnie (Woods) Courtney in Sickles, Oklahoma and passed away early Wednesday, May 10, 2023, in the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City surrounded by family.

Marge, as she was known by family and friends, was raised in Hinton, OK and she attended Hinton Schools. She married Wendell Folsom on October 18, 1958, in Anadarko, OK. They made their first home in Hinton, OK where she continued high school, graduating in 1959.

She made homes in several places including El Reno, OK, Weatherford, OK, Arapaho, OK and Cordell, OK. Her husband was a gospel minister and she followed and encouraged him through their many years of marriage. She was employed with the Arapaho Public Schools working in the lunchroom for over 25 years and transferred to Cordell Public Schools where she retired in 2005.

She was a longtime and faithful member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Arapaho. She loved to SHOP AND SHOP AND SHOP and had many hours of fun going to garage sales.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and infant daughter, Pamela Kay, three sisters, Ozella Moffitt, Marie Crownie and Jo Abbott Ross, four brothers, Odell Courtney, Paul Courtney, Bill Courtney, and Donald Courtney.

She is survived by husband, Wendell, of the home, daughter, Cathy Weems and husband, Ronny, Cordell, OK, two sons, Mickey Folsom, Monroe, GA, and Mark Folsom and wife, Tammy, Lagrange, GA., Danice Crabtree and husband David, Arapaho, OK, brother Albert Courtney and wife Chris, Norman, OK., sister-in-law, Carol Courtney, Kingston, OK., sister-in-law Pete Courtney, Mustang, OK.

She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
