Maria L. Chapa

Funeral Services for Maria L. Chapa, 86, Clinton resident twill be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 17, 2014 in the First Church of God, and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Keisau-Lee Funeral Home. Maria L. (Olvera) Chapa was born January 6, 1928 to Felipe and Anjelina (Vasquez) Olvera in Bryan, TX and passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital in Clinton, OK. Maria was raised in and around Bryan, TX, she married Mr. Ernesto R. Chapa January 14, 1945 in Robstown, TX and they made their homes in TX and in the early 60's they moved to Oklahoma and lived in Sentinel, Hobart and moved to Clinton in 1989. She worked as a Nurses Aid while living in Hobart. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, David Wayne Chapa, three brothers, Joel, Selipe, Jr., and Elias Olvera and a sister, Vicente Olvera. She was a faithful member of the Templo Marantha Church. She is survived by her husband, Ernesto, of the Methodist Health Care Center, three daughters, Ester Chapa-Reyes, Denver, CO, Annie Gonzales, Billings, MT and Elizabeth Acosta and her husband, John, Sr., of Clinton; six sons, Samuel Chapa, SR., Hominy, OK, Ernest Chapa, Jr and wife Ester, Grande Prairie, TX Daniel Chapa and wife Margarita, of Clinton, David Chapa and wife, Alicia, Amarillo, TX, Ezequiel Chapa and wife, Elva, Clinton and Israel Chapa and wife, Estella, Rotan, TX and a daughter in law, Sulema Chapa, Amarillo, TX and two brothers, Reynaldo Olvera, both of McKinney, TX. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
