Funeral Services for Mario Rangel, 71, Butler resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 9, 2016 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Gilbert Hernandez. Burial will complete in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Mario Baca Rangel was born December 6, 1944 to Mariano and Manuela (Baca) Rangel in Lytle, Texas and passed away in his Butler home early Sunday, June 5, 2016. Mario was raised and attended school in the San Antonio, Texas area but moved to Butler at a young age with his family. He was married to Maria Dolores Hernandez on November 13, 1965 in Butler. They have made their home in Butler. He worked for several of the area farmers doing farm labor, but he also served on the Burns Flat Volunteer Fire Department. He served as a reserve deputy for the Custer County Sheriff's office and served as Butlers Police Officer for a short time. He had a passion for music, owning a music store, he was a major promoter for Hispanic singers and did numerous radio promotions. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Maria, of the home; mother, Mauella Rangel, ; daughter Rita Greear and husband, Shannon, Butler; four sisters, Mary Ramirez, Molly McComas, Horila "Rolly" Wilcox and Belia Ramirez, all of Butler; two brothers, Oscar Rangel, Butler and Mariano Jr. Rangel, Elk City. He is also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
