Marjorie was bom August 15, 1922 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Fred and Jennie (Parrish) Howe. Marjorie attended Red Rock School eight years and graduated from Clinton High School in 1941. As part of "Greatest Generation" she worked in an airplane factory during World War II. In June of 1946 Marjorie and Alva Sights were united in marriage in Wheeler, Texas. To this union one child was bom. They moved to a farm west of Clinton where Maijorie worked the dairy and help manage the cattle operation. Her love of animals and especially horses, became a lifelong passion. She spent every minute she could with a horse, either showing her horse at a horse show, entering any event a woman was allowed to enter at a rodeo; barrel racing, pole bending or the wild cow milking contest. Some of her favorite horses that she still talked of were: Cricket, Bess, Redbuck and Star. She always told people, " If you love a horse, they will love you back. But always let them know who is boss, but in a kind way." Her philosophy with horses was also one she used with people. We all knew she loved us but she was in charge thus being nicknamed "Chief'. She loved to travel and believed in getting up and going early and "not bum any daylight." She loved the mountains and golden aspen of Colorado. Another favorite was the Texas hill country and the vibrant Texas Bluebonnets in the spring. On all her travels she would pick up a rock to bring home for her flower garden of red roses. She enjoyed working in her yard and "rearranging" her many rocks. Her greatest love was her family and was always ready to have another "gathering". " Just put on a pot of beans" she would say. But everyone knew she wouldn't stop till there was a big spread by the time eveiyone arrived. She had a great talent for decoration cakes and never missed baking and decoration cakes for family birthdays and weddings. Her eyes would light up the most when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit. She loved to educate them about horses. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, an infant brother, two brothers, Bill Howe and Charles "Bud" Howe, three sister-in-laws, one brother-in-law and one niece. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Lau and husband Danny Lau of Clinton, two brothers, Olan Howe and wife Phyllis of Neosho, Missouri and Nolan Howe of Granby, Missouri.
