Funeral Services for Marie Chance, 84, Arapaho resident will be held 2:30 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the Arapaho First Assembly of God Church, officiated by Rev. Gilbert Johnson, and burial will follow in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Martha Marie Chance was born September 10, 1928 to Hiram and Sarah Retha (Stracenar) Roberts in Plummerv ille, AR and passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 in the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Marie was raised in Plummerville and attended Morrilton High School. She married Mr. Lonnie Chance on February 2, 1946 in Morrilton, AR. They made their home in California until 1955 and they moved to Oklahoma City, to Thomas in 1958 and to Clinton in 1964. She attended Beauty College and graduated in 1965 and owned and operated The Beauty Shop in Clinton along with her husband. They moved to Arapaho in 1977 and operated a beauty shop until her retirement in 1992. She has been a long time member of the First Assembly of God Church in Arapaho; she enjoyed doing handwork, sewing, and knitting and crocheting, she was well known for her good cooking and her specialty was chicken and dumplings. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Grady Chance, daughter, infant Patricia, two sisters Montross Wylia and Roberta Armstrong and a grandson, Kenneth Chance. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie, of the home, a son, Ronnie and wife, Vickii, Canton, TX and a daughter, Wanda Denley and husband, “Buddy”, Canton, TX and a brother, Robert Roberts and wife, Orla, Plummerville, AR. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home 6:00 P.M.., till 8:00 P.M.Friday, April 26, 2013.
