Funeral Services for Marvin Vogt, 89, Corn resident will be held 11:30 A.M., Monday, November 26, 2018 in the Corn Mennonite Brethern Church in Corn, OK, officiated by Pastors Tim Sandy and Ken Gardner. Burial will conclude in the Corn Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Marvin Roy Vogt was born October 9, 1929 to Henry Vogt and Anna Suderman in Corn, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the Integris Baptist Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK. Marvin was raised in Corn, OK and graduated from Corn High School in 1948. He continued going to school at the Corn Bible Academy receiving Bible Classes for one year. He married Elsie Schmidt on November 8, 1949 in the Corn High School Gymnasium because the Church had burned in January. He has farmed and ranched most of his life, he did custom farm work, silage cutting, bailing hay and hauling hay as well as selling insurance and doing carpentry work. He was a very active and faithful member of the Corn Mennonite Brethern Church; he was a Sunday school teacher until 1997; he served over 13 years as Deacon; he was the Mennonite Disaster Service Assistant Chairman for the State of Oklahoma for six years; he was active in the Mennonite Central Committee for Relieve; he was involved with the Et Cetera Shop in Weatherford from the time it started in 1977 until 1994. In 1995 he helped start the Mission House for the Homeless in Clinton and served on its board for numerous years, also helping to build the new kitchen and dining area and several other projects. He loved doing woodworking and made and donated numerous items to be sold both at the Mission House and the Et Cetera Shop as well as many other Church organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie; son, Roy Vogt and sister, Ella Dyck. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Jaronek and husband, Dan, Cordell and son, James Vogt and wife, Debbie, Edmond; brother, Jim Vogt and wife, Beth, OKC, OK. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Angela Rapihana and husband, Carl, Norman, OK, Stephanie Eugene and husband, Jorgi, OKC,OK, Jeff Jaronek and wife, Tara, Corn, OK, John Vogt and wife, Emily, Westminster, Co; Ashley Vasek and husband Maison, Dallas, TX; Hillary Ruth and husband Matt, Edmond, OK; six great-grandchildren, Taison Rapihana, Elsie Jaronek, Jordan Eugene, Nora Vogt, Ava Vasek, Lila Vasek. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Clinton Mission House for the homeless or the Mennonite Central Committee in Care of the Corn Mennonite Brethren Church.
