Funeral Services for Mary Ann Atkinson, 74, Burns Flat resident will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in the Bethany Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Billy Mucker, Rev. Lloyd Hall and Rev. James Callins, burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Mary Ann (Grimes) Atkinson was born May 20, 1939 to Jim and Mazie Ann (Carr) Grimesin Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Grace Living Center in Clinton. Mary Ann was raised in Clinton and attended Excelsior School. She continued her education at Okmulgee Technical School receiving her Culinary Arts degree. She made her resident in Burns Flat where she was first employed with a furniture factory, she also worked as a cook at the Pop Hicks Restaurant. She finished her working career with the Burns Flat School System, working in various positions and retired after 32 years in 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Elizabeth Simmons,Isabel Grimes and Rosa Mae Rhoades and three brothers, Ralph Grimes, Sonny Grimes and William "Buddy" Grimes. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, hand work, gardening, and most of all going to garage sales. She is survived by four daughters, Melody Crawford, Clinton, Regina Labostrie, Burns Flat, OK, Sherri Price and husband, William, Burns Flat, OK, Andrea Atkinson and Bobby McIntosh, Jr., Tulsa, OK, four sons, Joe McBrayer and fiancée, Deborah Watson, Minneapolis, MN, Edward L. McBrayer and wife, Ann, Minneapolis, MN, James Atkinson and wife, Bobbi, Elk City and Keith Atkinson and wife, Monique, Mesquite, TX; and, Rick Marr and his wife, Nicole, of Elk City, OK;a sister, Ruth Bennett, and husband, George, Clinton; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of dear relatives and friends.
