Mary Dorene Haggard

Mary "Dorene" Haggard Celebration of Life will be held at Kiesau Memorial Chapel in Clinton, OK at 10:00 am Thursday, June 5, 2014 with the internment occurring directly afterward under the direction of the Keisau-Lee Funeral Home at the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK to lay her to rest beside her husband. Mary Daline "Dorene" (Duncan) Haggard was born in Butler, Oklahoma on October 14, 1924 and passed away June 1st, 2014 in Dallas, TX in the company of her beloved family. She graduated from Butler High School in 1942 and earned her teaching degree from Southwestern State College in 1950.As a teacher with a career spanning over 30 years, she was one of the lucky few walking this earth that was able to turn what she loved into a profession. She was even awarded Teacher of the Year for Custer County in 1971. She joins her beloved husband Levall in eternal rest. The two were married in 1954 and were adored parents to their two children, Jane (Haggard) Davis of Montgomery, TX and Tim Haggard of Dallas, TX. Mary was also integral to the upbringing of her grandson Jeff Yenzer of Yukon, OK, as well as his daughter Isis, teaching both the fundamentals of patience and love during time spent in her care. She is preceded in memorial by her husband Levall, her mother Chloie and father Tom Duncan, her brothers Roger, Joe, J.T., and Tommy, as well as his wife Lois and Mary's niece Jennifer. She is survived by her daughter, Jane and her husband Mike, her son Tim, her grandson Jeff, her great-granddaughter Isis, her sister-in-laws Brenda Duncan and Adalee Duncan, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and spouses that make up a family built on a foundation of love. All are welcome to attend as we share memories and songs in honor of a woman that brought so much light into this world and touched so many lives during her time here. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that you make a comparable donation to a charity of your choosing in Mary's memory.
