A sweet, beautiful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. Mary's was a life full of love. She was born, the tenth of twelve children, in the family home, in Wichita, Kansas, on January 30, 1923. She departed this life in Clinton, OK on May 21, 2016, in the place she loved most in the world…her kitchen. The daughter of Lebanese emigrants, Almaza Jabara and Albert Razook, she grew up quickly, due to the loss of her parents by her 13th year. She learned to manage the family household, bringing her creative energies to preparing delicious meals, on a budget After high school graduation, Mary worked in downtown Wichita, until she married the "light of her heart," Mitchell Simon, just after her 20th birthday, on Valentine's Day, 1943. They made their life, together, in Clinton, OK for almost 72 years, rearing their four children and reveling in the joys of their large, extended family. Active in the community, Mary served as President of the Junior Service League, Cub Scout Den Mother, and various other organizations. A life-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, she was involved in committees that helped serve the city she called, "home." A quintessential homemaker, she could multi-task, seemingly without effort. Known for her culinary skills, she often said, "I got to Mitchell's heart, through his stomach." Her desserts are legendary. Mary's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren would bring a wide, sparkly smile to her beautiful face, each time they walked through her "always open" door. She adored those babies! Greeting her at Heaven's gates are Mitchell, her parents, sisters: Violet, Lula, Hilwa, Leona, Lucille, Ruth and brothers: George, Kenneth, Louis, Philip, and son-in-law, Bob Childress.
