Funeral Services for Matthew Reyes, 49, Thomas resident will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in the Clinton Indian Community Center, officiated by Rev. Delfred Whitecrow. Burial will follow in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Matthew Wade Reyes was born May 13, 1972 to Alfredo Reyes, Jr. and Alta Black Owl and passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Weatherford Regional Hospital. A Wake Service will be held 6:00 till 10:00 P.M., Monday, November 15, 2021 in the Community Indian Center. Matthew was raised in Thomas, OK where he graduated from Thomas High School in 1990. While in high school he was active in football, basketball, track and band. He went on to continue his education at the Haskell Indian Nation College in Lawrence, KS. While living in Lawrence he was employed with Roebuck and Sears Company. He later attended Culinary School at Sipi College in Albuquerque, NM. He was married to Rebecca Cometsevah-Nez on July 4, 2009 in Clinton, OK. He worked the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes at the Casino in Concho. He was a proud member of the Cheyenne/ Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma; he was traditional and enjoyed native dancing. He was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Sophia Reyes, three sons, Ryan Reyes, Benjamin Buffalo and wife, Laney, and Steven Burk and wife, Tayler; his father, Alfredo Reyes, Jr.; sister, Valerie Reyes and her partner, Queenie; brothers, Mario Reyes, David Reyes and wife, Rebecca, Nick Reyes, Weatherford, Mark Reyes and wife, Brenda, of Idaho and Danny Reyes.
