Maxine Harris

Maxine Harris, 11/5/1922 - 12/14/2013 passed away suddenly at the age of 91 in Dallas, TX. A native Oklahoman, Maxine, daughter of Mattie and Ralph Hutchison, was born in Custer City, OK. She graduated from Putnam High School and spent most of her adult life in Houston, Texas. She and her husband, Maynard Harris, then retired to Canyon Lake, TX where she developed a passion for playing golf, winning her first tournament at the age of 65. After her husband's death, she lived with her daughter Sue in Miami, Florida for several years before returning to Clinton to be near her sisters. After a lengthy stay in assisted living, Maxine moved in with daughter, Jeanie in Dallas, TX. In all her travels, she was always accompanied by her little Chihuahua, Sasha, whom she loved dearly. Little Sasha had to be released to the Rainbow Bridge just weeks before. Maxine had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed getting together with friends to play dominos or cards. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by sister, Creola Cline Edmonds. Survived by daughters, Jeanie Edens of Dallas, Sue Walsh and husband Rich of Miami, Florida; Stepson Bob Harris and wife, Dottie of Goodyear, AZ; and Stepdaughter, JoAnn Collins. Also survived by sisters, Lila Kluver of Clinton, OK and Darlene Pilgrim and husband, Pat of Oklahoma City, OK.; Grandchildren, Tammy Farr, Terri Farr Kammerer and husband Ken; Michael Walsh, Paul Walsh and wife Taryn, Great Grandchildren include Kara Nicole Kammerer, Hayla Ruth Walsh and Zachary Bruce Walsh. Nieces and Nephews, Curtis Cline, Linda Beth Butcher, Leslie Dick, Marshall Delk and Kevin Merrill and several grand nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013 in the chapel at Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home, 2500 W. Modelle Ave., Clinton, OK In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to an organization that was close to Maxine's heart: Cody's Friends Rescue, 6501 Clearhaven Circle Dallas TX 75248 either by check or by PayPal
