Celebration of life service for Michael Dean Copeland, 59, former Clinton Police officier will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, Officiated by Rev. Bobby Stewart and Joe Cloninger and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home. Michael Dean "Spanky" Copeland was born March 1, 1957 in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Dean and Carolyn Copeland. He was a 1976 graduate of Pampa High School and a 1978 graduate of Frank Phillips Jr. College. He was employed with the Sayre and Oklahoma Sheriff's Department and the Elk City, Police Department before moving to Clinton, Oklahoma, where he served as patrolman and dispatcher for the Clinton Police Department November 19, 1980 until May 13, 2003, serving a little over 22 years. He married Martha Aldridge December 31, 2001. They made their homes in Clinton and Burns Flat Oklahoma. Survivors include his Mother, Carolyn Copeland, of Pampa Texas; two sisters, Nan Rivera and husband Arcadio M. of Amarillo, and Neysa Brown and husband Joe of Pampa; Honorary Sister Susie Staus and husband Jimmy Staus, Lake Charles, LA. Step Children include Shane and Tori Gregg of Lindsey OK, Richard and Valenda Gregg of Enid OK, Corey and Tiffany Gregg of Burns Flat OK, and Robin and Kevin Lambert of Enid OK. Several nieces and nephews, and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Copeland and wife Martha Copeland.
