Funeral services for Michael Pawnee, 54, of Clinton have been set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Clinton, and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Clinton Indian Cemetery. Michael J. Eugene Pawnee was born on December 21, 1963 in Geary, OK to William Pawnee Sr and Alta (Harrison) Pawnee. He departed this life on Friday March 2, 2018 at Cordell Memorial Hospital in Cordell, OK. Mike was raised in Calumet and attended Calumet schools. In 1981 he received his uncles English name Eugene White thunder and also his Cheyenne Indian name. On February 10, 1987 he married the love of his life Toni (White Buffalo) Pawnee in El Reno, Ok and later made their home in Clinton. He was employed at Lucky Star Casino of Clinton for 9 1/2 years where he started off as a maintenance worker, then later got promoted to Operations Manager and worked in that position for 5 Years. Mike started out singing at the age of 13, he became well known for his singing, and knowledge of the songs at the drum. Mike has served many times as Head Singer for various celebrations. He has traveled to many states with the drum group Bad Medicine. In his recent years he has been singing and traveling with Bad Company who were mostly sons, nephews, grandsons and brothers. He was a huge Oklahoma University football fan, and also Oklahoma City thunder fan. Mike was actively bowling in a weekly youth/adult league every Sunday in El Reno with his kids and grandkids. Survivors include his wife Toni of the home, Son Jeremy & wife Alereta of Towaoc, Colorado Daughters: Lee & husband Isaac of Arapaho Ok, Anna Helen of Clinton OK 12 grandchildren: John, Utin, Damien, Trinity, Cecilia, Ashley, AJ, Jaeda, Jaia, Jayden, Chloe Faith, Stryker. Brothers: Freeman (Paula) Pawnee of El Reno, OK William Pawnee Jr. of Shawnee, OK Gregory Pawnee of El Reno, OK Tommy White Thunder (Sandra) of Tecumseh OK Sisters: Phyllis White Thunder of Kingfisher OK Diane (Burton) Hawk of Kingfisher, OK Aunts: Muriel Pawnee of Shawnee, OK Wanda Pawnee of Concho, OK Reda Pawnee of El Reno, OK Esther Pawnee of El Reno, OK Angie Pawnee of El Reno, OK Janie Pawnee of El Reno, OK Numerous adopted brothers and sisters.
