Funeral Services for Mike Cornell, 65, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 8, 2013 in the Clinton First Baptist Church, officiated by Vann Leonard and burial will conclude in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Custer City, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Michael Bryan Cornell was born November 16, 1947 to K.B. Jr. and Wanda Jean (McBride) Cornell in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in his Clinton home. Mike was raised in Custer City, Oklahoma and graduated from Custer City High School in 1965. He continued his education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford with a degree in Education. He was married to Janie Haskett in 1966 in Custer City. He started his farming career and farmed and ranched for over 31 years. He also did Custom Fertilizer Application as well as sold cars for David Howe Motors, Smith Family Nissan in Elk City and D&D Used Cars. He attended the Custer City Methodist Church for many years and most recently he was a member of the Arapaho First Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing; he was a sports fan and a major supporter of Oklahoma University Football. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Michael Bryan Cornell, Jr. and his wife, Tina, and daughter, Laura Cornell, all of Clinton, a sister, Kathleen Walker and husband, Jim, of Oklahoma and a brother Pat Cornell and wife, Kathy, of Clinton, his fiancé, Terry Terry, of Clinton He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Will Cornell, Jackson Cornell, Gage Butcher, Reid Butcher, Jordan Cornell, Jessica Cornell and Sydney Butcher and a great-grandchild, Addler Bryan Cornell. It is has been suggested those wishing to give a memorial contribution may do so to the "Friends for Life" Animal Sanctuary C/O Charlene Meacham 712 Phillips Lane, Clinton, OK 73601.
