Norlan Rush Abercrombie

Graveside Services for Norlan Rush Abercrombie, age 71 years, 6 months, and 5 days, Fay, Ok., resident have been set for 2:30 P.M. Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Fay, with David Beck officiating, and under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.

Norlan Rush Abercrombie was born to Forrest and Alzada (Cline) Abercrombie on March 14, 1952 in Thomas, Oklahoma.

Rush attended Fay Public Schools and was a lifetime member of the community.

He passed away on September 19, 2023 at St. Anthony's hospital in Oklahoma City after suffering a sudden stroke.

Rush started driving tractor for Don Potter when he was sixteen.

He worked for several years in the oil field and always said his favorite place to be on the rig was the "crows nest."

Rush went on custom harvest over the years with Selby Minton, Virgil Rhodes, Gale Walker, and Spud Walker.

He always enjoyed traveling the country and seeing the sights along the way.

During the off season he was cutting down trees for people and cutting firewood.

Rush enjoyed roller skating at Oakwood and was looking forward to the rink opening back up on September 16th.

Rush is survived by sisters Daleene and Larry Caldwell, Stillwater, OK, Eldora and Dwaine Horton, Thomas, OK, and Robin Meyer of Weatherford, OK.

Nephews Shane and Tiffany Caldwell, Dorrin and Hazel Caldwell all of Stillwater, OK.

Nieces Shawna and Jevin Jefferson, Clinton, OK, Abbey and Eric King and Natalie Meyer all of Weatherford, OK.

Great nephews Tyler and Faythe Caldwell and son Killian of Stillwater, OK and Benjamin Caldwell of Stillwater, OK.

Great nieces Allana and Cole Williams and sons Isaac and Arthur Williams of Tulsa, OK, and Alyssa Caldwell of Stillwater, OK.

He was preceded in death by grandparents R.Y and Effa Abercrombie, and Harry and Hercile Cline. His parents Forrest and Alzada Abercrombie, and brother-in-law Chuck Meyer.
