Funeral Services for Norma Jean Bearshield, 62, Weatherford resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday June 20, 2018 in the Emmanuel First Baptist Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma officiated by Rev. Gerald Watson and Rev. Gerald Panana. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. A Traditional Wake Service will be held 7:00 P.M., till 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Indian Baptist Church in Weatherford. By request of the deceased her body will not be viewed. Norma Jean Bearshield was born July 15, 1955 to Sylvester and Minnie (Yellow Eagle) Bearshield in Clinton, Oklahoma and passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Norma was raised in Weatherford and attended most of her schooling there, however she graduated from Ft. Sill Indian School in 1974. She continued her education at the SIPI Indian School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She returned to Weatherford, OK and worked at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Cafeteria and she later worked for the Cheyenne/Arapaho Tribes doing food distribution and since 2005 she was employed with Clinton's Indian Health Services in the housekeeping department. She is preceded in death by her son, Leonard Keith Parker, II; parents; maternal grandparents, John and Lena Yellow Eagle and Paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Bearshield, and sister, Leandra Bearshield. She was a faithful and long time member of the Weatherford Indian Baptist Church; her passion was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Crystal LaRue Parker and John Carroll, Cache, OK and Alexis Felicia Arriaga and B.J. Whitley, Weatherford, son, John Wesley Arriaga, Weatherford and four sisters, Yolanda Yellow Eagle-Cometsevah, Patricia Ramos and husband, Eusebio, Sr., Iris Yellow Eagle, all of Weatherford and Carolyn Bearshield, OKC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Chasity Blessing and husband, Joseph, Atticus Arriaga, Miley and Gavina Whitley, Sasha Parker, Chance Parker, Kyle, Blaine and Chase Carroll, all of Cache and two great-grandchildren, Talia Parker and Parker Blessing, of Weatherford
