A Memorial Services for Norma Jean Kauk, 84, Custer County resident will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, in the First Church of God officiated by pastor Roy Dobbs and by request she will be cremated and will be buried at a later date in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Norma Jean (Smith) Kauk was born November 23, 1929 to Zora and Velma (Good) Smith in Shenandoah, Iowa and passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 in the Integris Clinton Regional Hospital. Norma came to Oklahoma as a youngster and was raised in Arapaho, OK where she attended school and graduated in 1947. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Clinton. She was married to Eddie Kauk on March 7, 1953 in Butler. They made their home Northwest of Butler where they farmed for several years. Mr. Kauk preceded her in death in 2005. She was a member of the Butler Baptist Church, she was a member of the Gingham Girls, she loved to sew, crochet and do craft work. She precede din death by her parents, an infant daughter, Elizabeth Mae Kauk, and three brothers, Layton, Leroy "Rick" and Floyd Smith. Sheis survived by her daughter, Marsha Kauk, of Butler, a sister, Jo Anne Smith, Lawton, OK and two brothers, Harold Smith, Lewisville, TX and Bill Smith, Arapaho. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
