Funeral Services for Norma Lax, 80, Clinton resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the First Baptist Church in Arapaho, OK, officiated by Pastor Vann Leonard and Pastor Loyd Hall. Burial will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Norma Lee Lax was born March 13, 1936 to A.G. Hooser and Ellen (Graham) Hooser in Sentinel, Oklahoma and passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 in the Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Norma was raised in Sentinel and Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School in 1955. She was married to Tom Lax on February 25, 1955. They have made their homes in Hobart, Arapaho and Clinton. She had been employed with Dr. Wilson Mahone in Hobart, Dr. W.D. Erwin in Clinton, Custer County Election Board, as well as doing child care in her home. She is a member of the Arapaho First Baptist Church; she enjoyed painting, quilting, and arts and crafts. She was also a member of the Sunnyside Neighbors Home Extension Club. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Maudie Hooser Mitchell, sisters in law, Wilma McGraw and Leona Poindexter; brother in law, Sam Nason. She is survived by her husband, Tom, of the home, two daughters, Debra Weil and husband Raymond, Clinton and Nancy Spencer, Hinton; son, Gilbert Bradley Lax and wife, Rayna, Butler; six grandchildren, Chris Weil, Julie Thomas, Ryan Paoli, Nathan Spencer, Madison Lax, Rance Lax and five great-grandchildren, Payton Weil, Alexis Weil, Braden Thomas, Jacob Thomas and Victoria Weil. She is also survived by brother in law Leon Lax and wife, Billie, of Clinton, Sister in law, Joan Upchurch and husband, Dale, of Clinton, sister in law, Elizabeth Nason, Wichita Falls, TX, brother in law, Ray Poindexter, Arapaho, brother in law, Don McGraw and wife, Alberta, Lake Mills, Wisconsin. The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Arapaho First Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will greet guest at the funeral home 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M., Friday, January 20, 2017.
