Norma Pratt

November 30, 1928 — April 9, 2017

A private service will be held at the Clinton cemetery for Norma Pratt under the direction of Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Norma Jean (Hatchell) Pratt was born November 30, 1928, to Marvin and Cenus (Maynard) Hatchell in Cordell, Oklahoma and passed away on April 9, 2017, in Norman, Oklahoma. Norma was raised in Cowden and Arapaho, graduating from Arapaho High School in 1947. She played basketball and was crowned Basketball Queen her senior year. She married John Donley in 1948, working in the Carnegie Building on the O.U. Campus while John was attending law school. They spent summers cutting wheat as far north as Montana. They moved to Clinton in 1954, where they raised four daughters. In 1971, Norma married Charles Pratt and moved to Chicago, where they lived until moving to Denver in 1975. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1981, finally settling in Norman. After Charles death Norma returned to Clinton, where she resumed many old friendships, even joining the same bridge clubs she had belonged to many years before. In 2013, she moved back to Norman to be near her daughter Lynda and son-in-law Michael. Norma loved a good game of bridge hands and could recall bridge hands played days earlier. She was a wonderful cook, and she loved fixing her grandchildrens favorite meal ham and scalloped potatoes. She loved watching football and basketball on tv, and Thunder was her favorite team. Christmas was her favorite time of year. On Thanksgiving Day, she would start decorating, making peanut brittle, and counting down the days until her family could gather for Christmas. Everyone who met Norma loved her for so many reasons. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Karen, her husband Charles, and her brother Eddie. She is survived by her sister Wanda, daughter Lynda and husband Michael, daughter Susan, daughter Kathy and husband Jim, grandchildren Scott, Ryan Cody, Kyle, and Katie.
