Norman Eugene Burden

Chapel Services for Norman "Gene" Burden, 67, Sayre resident will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2019 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel. Burial will conclude in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Norman Eugene Burden was born December 17, 1951 to Norman Van Burden and Mary Edith (Ward) Burden and passed away early Sunday, April 21, 2019 at his Sayre home. "Gene" as he was known by family and friends was raised in the Stafford and Foss area and graduated from Canute High School in 1970. He started his working career doing farm labor but in 1980 he purchased and operated Gene Burden Trucking in Elk City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Archie Lee Burden, and Frank Burden and two sisters Lois Huey and Maxine Webb. He is survived by son, Vance Burden and wife, Jamey, Clinton; two sisters, Ruby Mowry, Mustang and Mary Richardson and husband, Duane, Butler, Oklahoma and brother, Jimmy Burden, Clinton and a longtime and special friend, Henrietta "Oscar" Byrley, Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
