Norman "Scott" Damron

July 25, 1957 — February 2, 2024

Memorial Services for Scott Damron, 66, former owner and Master Watch Maker of Damron’s Jewelry in Clinton, OK and now of Bixby, OK, will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, February 5, 2024, in the Clinton Church of Christ, 2601 Custer Ave. officiated by Patrick Peters. A Private burial will be held prior to the funeral service at the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.


Norman Scott Damron was born July 25, 1957, to Harold and Earline (Gore) Damron in Elk City, OK and passed away in his Bixby home early Friday, February 2, 2024.


Scott was raised in Elk City, OK and graduated from Elk City High School in 1975. He was a member of Elk’s Football team. He married Janice Smith on June 3, 1975, in Elk City, OK. He attended and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later attended Okmulgee Jewelry Repair School and specialized in Watch Repair to receive his certification.

They moved to Clinton in 1986 and opened and operated Damron’s Jewelry Store and Repair. They made Clinton their home until 2001 and made Bixby, OK their home. He operated a repair shop in his home and became very well known for his expertise in watch repair and did trade work for numerous jewelry stores in Oklahoma and Arkansas.


He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ; he loved music and was an outstanding guitar player. He was known to be quite a talker and storyteller and made friends with most of the people he encountered. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and rode it over 100,000 miles traveling all over the United States. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to water ski. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Oklahoma University Fan and enjoyed watching and attending their football games.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Zachary Scott Damron in 1994 and brother, Jerry “Dee” Damron, father and mother-in-law, Bob and Vona Smith.


He is survived by his wife, Janice, Bixby, OK, daughter, Ginger Andresen and husband, Jared, Broken Arrow, OK, brother, Ray Damron and wife, Dixie, Elk City, OK, sister-in-law, Deena Damron, Angleton, TX, two brothers in law, Rex Smith and wife, Charmaine, and Ralph Smith and wife, Tammy, all of Elk City. OK


He is also survived by three grandchildren, Zach, Ava and Meg and a special cousin he considered a sister, Susan Damron, and her children, Mak, and KT, and several other family members and friends.


The family has suggested those wanting to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Southern Outdoor Dreams or the Hospice of your choice.
