Private Funeral Services for Odell Ferrell, 82, Butler resident will be held at the Butler Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Terry Beals and nephew, Danny Benefield. Burial will follow in the New Hermon Cemetery near Leedey, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Eddie Odell Ferrell was born September 10, 1938 to Floyd N. Ferrell and Jewel I. (Cairl) Ferrell in Elk City, OK and passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the Clinton Veterans Center in Clinton, OK. Odell was raised in Leedey, OK and graduated from Leedey High School in 1956. He continued his education at Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK. He married Judy (Smithers) Johnson on October 31, 1980 in Ardmore, OK. He enlisted in the U.S. Army December 7, 1960 and was honorably discharged with honors on February 20, 1967. His working career consisted of owning a grocery store, barbering, owning a dairy farm, and rancher. He also served on the Ardmore Police Department, was a State Park Ranger at Lake Murray and Foss State Parks. He was an Emergency Medical Technician, Ambulance Driver and served as an instructor at the Love County Medical Center in Marietta, OK; he was a ranch foreman for Aubrey Long at Ardmore, OK. He is a member of the Butler First Baptist Church; a member of the F.O.P. Lodge 177, National Rifle Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars; he was an avid hunter and going to rodeos. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duane Ferrell; two sisters, Imogene Benefield and Ila Mae Williamson; son, Tony O. Ferrell; grandson, Jacob K. Allen, granddaughter, Tiffani Baker; four brothers-in-law and two sisters in law. He is survived by, his wife, Judy Ferrell, of the home; daughters, Tamra R. Kersey and husband, Anthony, Noble, OK, B’Anna J. Allen, Henderson, TX, Leslie J. Shimic, Bandera, TX, Mitzi L. Elliott of Ardmore, OK and Kristi D. Wedge, and husband Steven, Ft. Worth, TX. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jeremy Hendricks, Heather Die, Amanda Dorough, Jeremy Stout, Chelsey Simmons, Caleb Westmoreland, Jesi Burnett, Nathan Allen, and Brianna Nelson, Clayton Allen and Liam Wedge and 18 great-grandchildren The family has requested that anybody that visits the funeral home or family that attends the funeral service to please ware your mask.
