Funeral Services for Orva Glen Blankenship, 78, Clinton resident will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jim Westmoreland and burial with military honors will conclude in the Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau- Lee Funeral Home. Orva Glen Blankenship was born July 24, 1935 to Ezekiel Theodore and Beulah (McCormick) Blankenship in Lexington, TN and passed away September 9 2013 in his Clinton home. He was raised in Lexington, TN and graduated from high school before joining the U.S. Reserves. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served a stint and the transferred over to the U.S. Air force and served a term in Viet Nam. He specialized in Communications and retired after 20 years of service as a Staff Sargent. He was married to Karen Sue Burton on June 30, 1973 in Clinton. After his retirement from the Air Force they made their home in Stafford, Oklahoma for over 14 years. They moved to Tennessee for 8 years and then returned back to Custer County in 2005 and settled in Clinton. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Wooley and three brothers, J.D. Blankenship, Clayton Blankenship; and Ernest Lee Blankenship. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Karen of the home, three daughters, Michelle Addington, and Vickie Adams and husband Timmy, both of Clinton and Pat Hoch, of KY, a son, Tim Blankenship and wife, Victoria, Springfield, MO, a sister, Margaret Tyler, Lexington, TN. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Meghan Addington, Hunter Addington, Hayden Addington, J.J. Addington, Jacii, Addington, Brooklyn Adams, Ashton Adams, Nathaniel Hoch, Josh Hoch and Elsie Blankenship and by 7 great-grandchildren.
