Funeral Service for Oveda Touchstone, 90, Arapaho resident will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2022, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Patrick Peters. Burial will follow in the Butler Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27 and Wednesday, December 28.
Oveda Pearl (Barker) Touchstone was born September 6, 1932, to Thomas Barker and Bessie (Morgan) Barker in Butler, OK and passed away Wednesday December 21, 2022, in the Homestead of Elk City, OK.
Oveda attended some of her schooling in Mountain View, OK and later transferred and graduated from Butler High School in 1950. She married D.J. “Sonny” Touchtone June 10, 1950, in Clinton, OK. They made their home on a farm in Butler. Though being a homemaker was her priority she worked at the Butler grocery store and different cafés in Butler. After Sonny passed away in 1975, she moved to Butler for two years. In 1977 she moved to Arapaho and worked in the Lab at Clinton Hospital for the next 22 years and followed that with home health care until her retirement.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, she enjoyed fishing, traveling, quilting, and serving her community in any way that she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Mildred Chandler and Iva Mae Martin and brother, Thurman Barker and a son in law, Larry Seabolt.
She is survived by a daughter, B.J. Seabolt, Clinton, OK and son, Charley “Chuck” Touchstone and wife,Connie, Vici, OK, brother, Carroll Barker and wife Barbara, Arapaho, OK.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Chasity Richardson and husband, Bobby, Clinton, Chad Horrell and wife, Amber, OKC, OK and D.J. Touchstone, Vici, OK and five great-grandchildren, Max, Makaela, Paisley, Preston, Haylee Schroeder and husband, Dakota, Holdrege, NE and great-great granddaughter’s Elise, Kennedy and Jovie, all of Holdrege, NE.
