Patricia Joan Stith, known to many as Pat, passed away peacefully at home in Pilot Rock, Oregon and went to be in God's care on November 24, 2022, at the age of 88.
Patricia was born to Gene and Dorothy Malone on August 29, 1934, and grew up on a farm outside Buffalo, OK. She attended grade school and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1952. She then attended Oklahoma Baptist University, graduating in 1956 with a BS degree, majoring in home economics with an emphasis on teaching. In June 1955, Patricia married Edward Eugene "Gene" Stith, who also attended school in Buffalo OK and went to Oklahoma Baptist University as well.
Patricia was a fiercely dedicated mother of 5 children as well as a pastor's wife, both duties she embraced. Patricia also devoted her life to the pursuit of encouraging knowledge. She nurtured and taught many different skills and life lessons, not only to her children and grandchildren, but also to many other children and adults. She spent many years of her life teaching in various private and/or Christian schools, even teaching on a one-on-one basis, if needed. Teaching and the sharing of her knowledge, whether it was seeing children learn or teaching a construction skill to someone, gave her much joy. Patricia also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, embroidery, and cross-stitch as well as spending time with family.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents (Gene and Dorothy Malone), brother (Max Malone), husband (Gene Stith) and son-in law (Bo Jordan). She leaves behind her children Debi Stith (husband, Chau Le), Ed Stith (wife, Jan Stith), Rita Arai (husband, Andrew Arai), Julie Jordan, and Tricia Bateman (husband, Jeff Bateman) as well as 21 grandchildren (biological and by marriage) and 9 great-grandchildren.
Viewing and visiting with the family will be held in Clinton, Oklahoma on December 9th from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home with a brief remembrance service in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel at 1:00 P.M., travel to the Arapaho Cemetery, Arapaho Oklahoma at 1:30 P.M. followed by a brief graveside remembrance.
