A memorial service will be held for Paul Deutschendorf, 94, of Clinton, at 10 a.m. Monday in the First Christian Church. He died Thursday, June 27, 2019. Deutschendorf was born Sept. 17, 1924, to John Henry and Anna Deutschendorf. He was raised in the Cloud Chief and Cordell areas, where he grew up hunting and fishing with his father. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on March 4, 1943, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 8, 1946. On Dec. 21, 1949, he married Betty Moore. Deutschendorf worked as a barber and hairstylist at Paul's Barber Shop in Clinton for more than 70 years. His favorite pastime was camping and fishing along the Washita River with family, and he was a big fan of the Clinton Red Tornadoes. He loved gardening and always shared his crops. Deutschendorf was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark; eight brothers, Hank, Fred, Bill, Sam, Max, Abe, Larry and Dean; and two sisters, Annie Askins and Lena Cobb-Snider. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Paula Terry and husband Rick and Betty Deutschendorf; five grandchildren, Brooks Krewall and wife Casey, Halee George and husband Logan, Jenna Deutschendorf, Taylor Terry, and Shyla Wilhite and husband Randall; five great-grandchildren, AuBree, Kayden and Kobe Krewall, Aydrian Perez and Oliver George; a brother-in-law, Tuffy Howell; three sisters-in-law, Vera Deutschendorf, Lou Deutschendorf and Ruby Deutschendorf; and numerous nieces and nephews.
